THCa hemp flower, or tetrahydrocannabinol acid, is a compound found in CBD/Hemp plants that has different properties than THC (tetrahydrocannabinol). While THC is known for its psychoactive effects, THCa is non-intoxicating. When THCa is heated or decarboxylated, it converts into THC, which is why cannabis is usually smoked, vaped, or heated during cooking.

Research suggests that THCa may have therapeutic potential. However, more studies are needed to fully understand its effects. It’s important to note that the research on THCa is still developing, and much of the evidence comes from preclinical studies or anecdotal reports.

Under 2018 Hemp Farm Bill, hemp and hemp-derived products, including THCa flower, are legal as long as they contain less than 0.3% THC on a dry weight basis. The bill defines hemp as any cannabis plant or derivative with a THC concentration of no more than 0.3%.

THCa flower is derived from hemp plants that have been bred to have low THC levels and higher concentrations of THCa. As long as the THCa flower meets the legal requirement of containing less than 0.3% THC, it is considered legal under the 2018 Hemp Farm Bill. However, it’s important to note that laws regarding hemp and cannabis may vary from state to state, so it’s always best to check the specific regulations in your area.

 Because state laws vary regarding THCa hemp flower, and also due to the current confusion about its legal status, we do not recommend smoking it in public or having an open package of it in vehicles. Additionally, we recommend that it be sold to consumers only in pre-packaged, sealed bags or containers with labels clearly stating that it is lawful hemp.
